I also attended a meeting organised by Progress on Constitutional Reform. Click HERE for their website. The excellent speakers included Billy Bragg, Chris Leslie, Baroness Joyce Quinn and Jack Straw MP. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust does some invaluable work. I was honoured to be asked to take part, again, in a Charity football match at Stamford Bridge to help raise record sums for this worthy cause. The football match was between MP's and Celebrities. Their team contained former internationals Luther Blisset, Warren Barton, Neville Southall and Mark Bright as well as David Baddiel, Angus Deaton, Darren Campbell and Alistair Campbell to name but a few. You can find out more about the charity by clicking HERE. I also attended the amazing performance by children of Fircroft Primary School of "The Wizard of Oz". This is the first time that the school have put together such a production. The ambitions of Drama teacher Ms Bell, and her able team, were extremely lofty. All the staff, helpers and children worked really really hard for weeks and weeks to put together this wonderful performance. I hope the staff and helpers enjoyed the performances as much as the children performing did (and their proud parents!). I also visited the Oxfam shop in Tooting to join local campaigners in their "World Can’t Wait" campaign. The campaign urges world leaders to keep the promises they made two years ago at Gleneagles. To see a photo of me with the local campaigners click HERE. For more information click HERE. |
