Government cuts could lead to the closure of Tooting Station's ticket office, hitting services and passengers safety as fares are set to rocket. Sadiq Khan MP said, “Passengers will be angry that fares are shooting up while services are cut further.
“I have campaigned for improved safety at local stations – this will undermine those efforts and make passengers less safe.
“This will also disproportionately affect passengers who have problems using ticket vending machines – making it harder for them to get the best value fares.
“First Capital Connect must think very carefully about their decision now, and put their passengers first.”
